  • Divine Kitchens
    Exclusive Dealer for
    Leicht Cabinetry
  • logo-DivineKitchens

Divine Kitchens, winner of numerous Contractor of the Year Awards from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry, has been named the exclusive dealer of Leicht Cabinetry for the state of Massachusetts.

"This is very exciting for us," said Mariette Barsoum, Divine's owner and design director. "Leicht is the #1 cabinet manufacturer in Germany and is considered the benchmark for the most innovative trends in kitchen design. In fact they are introducing a new view of the kitchen at Eurocucina 2010, the world's largest exhibition of kitchen furniture, in Milan this April."

According to Barsoum, this release date dovetails perfectly with Divine's new Wellesley showroom opening, which will be the only venue showcasing Leicht in Massachusetts, offering architects, interior designers and homeowners an opportunity to explore this exquisite kitchen furniture in person.

"I love clean, modern lines," said Barsoum. "With 51 styles and 2,000 colors to choose from, Leicht leads the world in modern kitchen furniture and I am really looking forward to introducing it to our customers."

In addition to style, Leicht is also known for its extraordinary engineering and precise manufacturing. The company, which was started by two brothers in Germany in 1928, is known today for setting the standard for design aesthetics and ergonomics. It has earned the LGA Furniture Institute of Germany GS safety seal for the highest degree of comfort, loading capacity, material consistency and safety, as well as the RAL Quality Certificate "M" which represents the top products of the German Furniture Industry that have been tested for healthy living standards.

According to Barsoum, the line's design matrix allows the kitchen to be customized for the stature of the end user without sacrifice. With standard features that include self-closing drawers, door dampers, glass sides on pullouts, and metal floors in sink bases, the quality cannot be matched.

For more information, visit Divine Kitchens website or call 508-366-5670 to be put on an invitation list for the Wellesley showroom grand opening and the first look at Leicht in New England.

Divine Kitchens has beat the odds for start-up companies, successfully celebrating its 5th Anniversary during one of the most challenging economic times in US history. This residential design/build firm has won numerous local, regional and national design awards and has had a variety of projects featured in various consumer and trade publications. In 2010, Divine Kitchens reaches out from its original Westborough, MA showroom and opens a second showroom in Wellesley, MA, expanding its audience from Central MA and Metrowest to the entire Metro Boston region.

  • SBA to Assist MA Residents
    Affected by March Storms
  • Deadlines: The filing deadline to return applications for physical property damage is May 28, 2010. The deadline to return economic injury applications is December 29, 2010.

Following the announcement of the Presidential disaster declaration in Massachusetts for several counties affected by the severe storms and flooding beginning on March 12, Administrator Karen G. Mills of the U.S. Small Business Administration issued the following statement:
"The U.S. Small Business Administration is strongly committed to providing the people of Massachusetts with the most effective and customer-focused response possible to assist homeowners, renters, and small businesses with federal disaster loans. Getting our businesses and communities up and running after a disaster is our highest priority at SBA."

The disaster declaration covers Bristol, Essex, Middlesex, Norfolk, Plymouth, Suffolk and Worcester counties in Massachusetts, which are eligible for both Physical and Economic Injury Disaster Loans from the SBA. Small businesses and most private non-profit organizations in the following adjacent counties are eligible to apply only for SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans: Barnstable, Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire in Massachusetts; Tolland and Windham in Connecticut; Cheshire, Hillsborough and Rockingham in New Hampshire; and Bristol, Newport and Providence in Rhode Island.

Disaster loans up to $200,000 are available to homeowners to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate. Homeowners and renters are eligible up to $40,000 to repair or replace damaged or destroyed personal property.

Businesses and non-profit organizations of any size may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory, and other business assets. SBA can also lend additional funds to help with the cost of making improvements that protect, prevent or minimize the same type of disaster damage in the future.

For small businesses and most private non-profit organizations of all sizes, the SBA offers Economic Injury Disaster Loans to help meet working capital needs caused by the disaster. Economic Injury Disaster Loan assistance is available regardless of whether the business suffered any physical property damage.

Interest rates are as low as 2.625 percent for homeowners and renters, 4 percent for businesses and 3 percent for non-profit organization with terms up to 30 years. Loan amounts and terms are set by the SBA and are based on each applicant's financial condition.

To be considered for all forms of disaster assistance call the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). The locations of Disaster Recovery Centers and the loan application process can be obtained by calling the SBA Customer Service Center at 1-800-659-2955 (1-800-877-8339 for the hearing impaired), Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. EDT or sending an email to disastercustomerservice@sba.gov.

Massachusetts residents affected by this disaster may fill out a loan application online by visiting SBA's secure Web site at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela/.

  • Formal Dress Sale Fundraiser
  • The Formal Dress Sale Fundraiser will be held Saturday, April 10, from 10am until 5pm at the Wellesley Village Congregational Church in the center of Wellesley. Please plan to attend and bring your friends who might be interested in finding a great bargain on a dress. Know anyone going to a prom sometime soon? Let them know about the sale!

We've got 350 dresses to sell at this point. Some still have the original tags attached. Most look brand new. Some have designer labels. Most short dresses will be priced at $25 and long at $40.

To those of you who have already donated dresses, thank you very much. For those of you who would still like to donate, you've got until Friday, April 9. You can either email/call Liz King (kingswells@comcast.net / 781-431-1282) to arrange pick up. Dresses can also be dropped off at Potpourri Designs (8 Church Street, Wellesley).

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale will go to The Children's Nutrition Program of Haiti and a village in Zambia supported by Communities Without Borders.
