Wellesley Booksmith Visit by Gregory
Zuckerman |
|
Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 7:00 PM Gregory Zuckerman -
THE GREATEST TRADE EVER: The Behind-the-Scenes Story of How
John Paulson Defied Wall Street and Made Financial History
at Wellesley Booksmith, 82 Central Street, Wellesley, MA
02481.
Join award-winning financial journalist/author
Greg Zuckerman for a timely presentation and discussion about
the 2008 financial crash, John Paulson, Goldman Sachs and
more, based on his latest book, THE GREATEST TRADE EVER: The
Behind-the- Scenes Story of How John Paulson Defied Wall
Street and Made Financial History.
In recent weeks,
Greg has been interviewed frequently by the media for his
perspective on the April 2010 SEC civil suit of securites
fraud brought against Goldman Sachs. Don't miss hearing Greg's
perspective on the financial market in the light of current
events.
Due to limited space, RSVP required:
(781) 431- 1160 or events@wellesleybooksmith.com.
ABOUT THE BOOK: Written by the
award-winning reporter who broke the story in The Wall Street
Journal, THE GREATEST TRADE EVER: The Behind-the-Scenes Story
of How John Paulson Defied Wall Street and Made Financial
History by Gregory Zuckerman is a fast-paced, behind-
the-scenes tale of how John Paulson outwitted Richard Fuld,
Stanley O'Neal and Wall Street's titans to make financial
history. Unlike the countless books on how financial markets
collapsed, THE GREATEST TRADE EVER is a dramatic tale with a
beginning, middle, and end. It tells the story of the housing
and financial meltdowns through the lens of one of the few
heroes of the debacle. It also examines why investors find it
so hard to bet against bubbles, how an outsider could
anticipate a collapse that mortgage, real estate, and
investing experts missed, and whether there were overlooked
reasons the bubble expanded. Lessons of the fast-paced
adventure are relevant to the next inevitable financial mania.
The book also explores Paulson's latest huge trade: a big
gutsy bet on gold.

Wellesley Police
Department NIXLE Service |
|
The Wellesley Police Department has partnered with Nixle www.nixle.com
to bring community notifications to a new level. The
system, which is free, allows citizens to sign up for
notifications from the Wellesley Police Department. Users then
decide what type and how many notifications they will receive.
Users can also specify whether they receive the alerts via
their text capable cell phone, email, website, or all three.
This is a great way to stay informed about what is
going on in the Wellesley community, whether you are at home
or away. The Wellesley Police Department is very committed to
this service and strive to make accurate, fast notifications
to citizens.
Here is a breakdown of what the Wellesley
Police will be sending via this service:
ALERT
ADVISORY: This is the highest level of community
notification and will be reserved for very important events.
Such notifications will include significant crimes of
violence, bank robberies, bomb incidents, mass evacuations,
missing children and major fires.
ADVISORIES:
This is the second level of community notification. Items that
will be sent include serious accidents, property crimes (break
ins), vehicle and suspect descriptions, and other minor events
that the Wellesley Police is involved in.
TRAFFIC: This is the lowest level of community
notification and will include planned street closures, traffic
updates around town, expected delays due to construction, and
other traffic related matters.
COMMUNITY: This
notification is reserved for Wellesley Police non-breaking
news, non-emergency type notifications that may be of interest
to the Wellesley community.
