What do the Chamber, WEF, A.M. DePrisco Wellesley and Golf have in common?

The Wellesley Chamber Golf Open will be held at the Wellesley Country Club on Monday, July 19. A portion of the proceeds from the 2010 Chamber Open will be donated to Wellesley Education Foundation.

A.M. DePrisco Wellesley offers... A Great way to DOUBLE your gift to WEF ...hitting the "GREEN" if you know what I mean!

Golfers at the Chamber Open will have a chance to double their contribution to the Wellesley Education Foundation (WEF)! At the 7th hole--a downhill 188 yard par three--anyone who reaches the green on their drive will have their gift doubled through the generosity of A.M. DePrisco Wellesley.

The goal is to raise as much for WEF as possible in order for them to increase their funds from this tournament to meet their stated Mission to offer programs that enhance, enrich and maintain excellence in the Wellesley Public Schools. This is truly a WIN, WIN contest with WEF raising funds and A.M. DePrisco Wellesley making a major contribution on behalf of the youth in Wellesley.

A.M. DePrisco Wellesley, a long time supporter of the Wellesley Chamber, continues the tradition of reaching the youth of the town by encouraging the Open contestants to 'HIT the GREEN' for WEF!

  • Bramble Format
  • A bramble starts off just like a scramble: the members of each team (usually four players per team) tee off, and the best drive is selected. In a scramble, this process continues until the ball is holed, producing one team score.

However, in a bramble, after the best drive is selected, all players play from that spot but then continue playing their own ball, stroke-play style, until each has holed out, producing four individual scores.

The team score can be the one low ball of the group, the two low balls, or some other variation depending on the tournament director's instructions.

In our case, each team will be selecting one low ball for each hole. We also be handicapping each player so the lowest score will be a net score.
